TOP TEN BUGS A new government survey reveals: the top 10 most common reported infectious diseases in the US are:

  • Chlamydia, 477,638 cases
  • Gonorrhea, 392,848 cases
  • AIDS, 71,547 cases
  • Salmonellosis, 45,970 cases
  • Hepatitis A, 31,582 cases
  • Shigellosis, 32,080 cases
  • Tuberculosis, 22,860 cases
  • Primary and Secondary Syphilis, 16,500 cases
  • Lyme disease, 11,700 cases
  • Hepatitis B, 10,805 cases
