MCCEE experiences

May 14, 2010

I would like to share my experience with MCCEE. I took the exam on January 28/2010.

Fair amount of easy qns, about 10 were identical to Canada qbank (CQB) and some of the other notes floating around. However, there were so many questions that made me crazy. So vague, so unclear, that you can pull your hair out and still not get the answer. I messed up qns I know just because they made the qns in a way to make you confuse…watch out for this. I need only a passing score for J1 visa and I hope to get it, but I feel like they will keep me on my toes for the next 6-7 weeks. In conclusion, the exam is tricky, be careful, do CQB, the ultimate MCCEE review (not sure how good this book is), and Toronto notes (if you have time) if you want high score. The exam is also costly (about $10 per question, I mean $1500 for 150+25 qns), so If you don`t wanna pay again, prepare well.

I honestly feel like I fell. It is a weird feeling after passing USMLE steps in the mid 90s.

BTW is there anybody else who felt the real exam qns very vague and unclear? Share your experience and score correlations please.

Update: I pass the exam with a score of 365. The minimum is 250, the mean is 275, and the top score is 500. I am happy with this score, because I needed it only for J1 visa purpose.

Feel free to share your experience.

lmccexams.com has the best MCEE prep questions hands down.

I used canadaqbank as well but found their questions and answers to be vague and porrly written

lmccexams questions were higher in value and quality and were also more challenging. their site was also a lot easier to use

Hi, I did my exam on the 3rd of Nov. i did my preparation from Toronto notes and q bank from lmccexams, unfortunately i didn’t pass with a score of 247. The lmccexams site had a lot of difficult questions, mostly focusing on electrolytes, acid base and very rare syndromes in each sector. The exam was not difficult frankly and most of the questions were on psychiatry and Ob-Gyne “which i wasn’t prepared that much for them” I am not satisfied from the lmccexams site and am defiantly not using it for my preparation for my March mccee exam. Any recommendations please🙂

Hi, Can anyone please tell me what material is required for this exam, other than the toronto notes. And what subjects are included. Also, how long on average does it take to prepare for the mccee exam?
